Wow that was fun, wasn’t it?
On Thursday 3 September, around 350 nerds … erm, enthusiasts gathered in Building Meerminne on Stads91³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Three of our researchers kicked off the evening with an old-school classroom presentation. We learnt why Japanese is so difficult, why a dog fits inside a Louis Vuitton bag and why even a plumber’s taps sometimes leak.

And then, finally, it was time to launch the paper aeroplanes, and the accompanying watch party. The evening was all about the four Gs: Good times, Gags and Giggles, and Gathering knowledge.

Our hats will be back next year too!
Our Vice-Rector Maarten Weyn became Maarten ‘Beer’ for the day and travelled to Zurich to announce that the Ig Nobel Prizes are coming to Antwerp.
T-shirts
Everyone who registered in time received a T-shirt after the event. But a few silly sausages never came to collect theirs. Their loss, your gain: we still have 10 T-shirts to give away!
Want to win one? Keep an eye on our and pages to find out how you can win one. .
