My research focuses on wireless networks and embedded systems with low and deterministic latency. The software abstractions underlying conventional wireless systems are optimised for the reliability of communication channels between two endpoints over long time horizons. Consequently, applications in which many devices must coordinate with one another within milliseconds, such as the control of machinery or robots, largely remain dependent on cables. I investigate how new abstractions can enable better system-level performance for such applications.
